Company Names Ian Doherty to Replace Retiring Ernie Bryon as VP, China Operations Effective March 1, 2008PITTSBURGH, PA, Feb 07, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Koppers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: KOP) today announced that Ernie Bryon, Vice President of Business Development-Asia, will be retiring effective March 1, 2008. Mr. Bryon has been with Koppers since 1993 and prior to his current position Mr. Bryon was Vice President, Australasian Operations. Mr. Bryon has been responsible for the oversight of all Asian business operations and development for Koppers and was instrumental in growing the Koppers business in China, establishing company offices in Beijing, and building strong relationships with the company's joint venture partners in China.

Koppers concurrently announced the appointment of Ian Doherty as Vice President, China Operations, to replace Mr. Bryon effective March 1, 2008. Mr. Doherty, 42, will assume responsibility for all Asian business operations and development for Koppers. Mr. Doherty relocated to Beijing, China in September 2005 as Regional Manager, Business Development, Marketing and Sales, and in July 2007 he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager, China. Mr. Doherty began working for Koppers in 2001 as a marketing manager in Australia. In his new capacity, Mr. Doherty will report to Kevin J. Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President, Global Carbon Materials & Chemicals.
