Small Fire at Koppers Denver Plant is Extinguished Without Injuries

PITTSBURGH, April 11, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- The Koppers Railroad & Utility Products plant in Denver, Colorado experienced a fire last evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. MDT. The fire department had the fire quickly under control and fully extinguished in less than two hours. There were no injuries and no employees were working in the area at the time of the fire. Operations continued without any interruptions.

Flames were reported at the north end of the plant where treated utility poles are stored prior to shipment. This area of the plant is adjacent to the Union Pacific railroad's main line track and the UP is involved in the investigation.
